Everyone knows how important accurate and timely diagnosis is. Without it, successful treatment of a child is impossible.
After the missile strike on OHMATDYT Children’s Hospital on July 8, the lab departments in the new building were damaged. People and equipment had to be moved to the old building, almost doubling the load on the old electrical networks. Cables and contacts frequently burned out, causing power outages. This made it extremely difficult, almost impossible, to perform accurate and timely tests.
Currently, the lab building houses six diagnostic departments that provide tests for almost 10,000 children. These include genetic tests for rare diseases (including newborns), donor matching for organ and bone marrow transplants, general clinical blood tests, rapid and in-depth studies for viruses and bacteria, and many others. For these tests, about two hundred pieces of equipment are used, including high-tech ones, refrigerators for storing reagents and research materials. All this requires constant power supply.
Thanks to the support of our partner EPAM Ukraine, we have installed new powerful cables to the building, replaced transformer distributors, and everything necessary to ensure the continuous and high-quality work of the hospital’s diagnostic departments.
