The Sumy Regional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children has taken in 40 children who suffered as a result of military aggression and were relocated from areas of active combat. Among them are orphans.
On September 1 last year, an enemy missile struck the building where the children were studying. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the facility was destroyed, leading to the closure of the Center in Sumy.
The children were moved to a safer location in the Sumy region, where efforts are now underway to set up a new space for their education and living.
To support these children and create conditions for their education and rehabilitation, we organized a charity evening at the National Academic Operetta Theater. The event was hosted by the National Operetta Theater in partnership with the General Directorate for Foreign Representative Services, the Association of Ukrainian Diplomats’ Spouses, and the “Krona” Foundation.
As a result of the charity event, 200,000 UAH was raised. Of this amount, 150,000 UAH was allocated to help the children of Sumy. We purchased educational and developmental materials, playground equipment, a printer, storage cabinets for educational materials and medical supplies.
The remaining 50,000 UAH was allocated to support children undergoing treatment at the Ohmatdyt National Specialized Children’s Hospital.
