On July 8, 2024, three buildings of OHMATDET were damaged by an enemy attack. Children and doctors from these buildings moved to other departments like pediatrics, neurology, and endocrinology. These departments are in old buildings that were not damaged. They had to add more beds, making the rooms crowded, but treatment could continue.
The old buildings didn’t have good air conditioning. It was very hot in the rooms, which was hard for the patients, especially those who couldn’t move. The heat also made it difficult for wounds to heal.
Thanks to donations from EPAM Ukraine employees and other people, we raised 586,000 UAH. We used this money to install 22 air conditioners in 15 wards, the lab, the ECG room, and the speech therapist’s office.
EPAM also gave 1.53 million UAH to help OHMATDET. This money will be used to repair the electrical systems in the diagnostic department and the medical gas supply in the main buildings.
