Krona Foundation implements the Project ‘Enhancing Rehabilitation and Accessibility of Healthcare Facilities in Communities of Kharkiv Region Affected by Mine and Explosive Activities’.
The project aims to strengthen the human, organizational, and technical capacities of two healthcare facilities in the Vovchansk community of Chuhuiv district and the Blyznyuky community of Lozova district to provide rehabilitation services.
Kharkiv region is one of the areas most affected by mine and explosive activities. Part of the region was under occupation for several months, and medical and social institutions suffered from destruction, looting, and significant areas were mined. Many medical workers left for safer places. Gradually, as Ukrainian territories are liberated, people are returning to the communities. Meanwhile, the number of people injured by mines and shells is increasing.
With the support of the Project, rehabilitation departments will be established by the end of this year at the Vovchansk and Blyznyuky central district hospitals. Krona will purchase modern equipment, lifts, informational materials, and organize training for staff members of multidisciplinary teams. Both military and civilian adults and children with injuries and disabilities will undergo rehabilitation at these hospitals
The project is implemented by the Krona International Charitable Foundation with the support of the United Nations Development Programme as part of the project ‘Promoting Human Security in Ukraine by Responding to the Multi-Dimensional Crisis Caused by the War’ with financial support from the Government of Japan.
