Fourteen specialists from multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams of district hospitals in Kharkiv visited the physical and rehabilitation medicine departments of the City Clinical Hospital No. 4 in Dnipro and the Physical Rehabilitation Department of the Kyiv Regional Hospital No. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colleagues from Kyiv and Dnipro shared their journey in creating services and their experience in rehabilitating people with various diagnoses, including mine-explosive injuries. Physical therapists, occupational therapists, and doctors shared their experiences and approaches to assessing the patient’s condition, developing individual rehabilitation plans, and motivating patients and their relatives to achieve recovery goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training took place within the framework of the project ‘Enhancing Rehabilitation and Accessibility of Healthcare Facilities in Communities of the Kharkiv Region Affected by Mine and Explosive Activities’ <\/a><\/em> which is implemented by Krona with the support of UNDP and financial support from the Government of Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main goal of the project is to strengthen the potential for providing rehabilitation services based on the Blyznyuky Central District Hospital and the Vovchansk Central District Hospital to ensure the accessibility of such services to the residents of these communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to training, within the framework of the project, the Krona ICF purchased rehabilitation equipment for two hospitals, equipped them with automatic lifts and ramps for people with limited mobility, and sound beacons for visually impaired patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the new equipment and the knowledge gained by our department’s specialists, we expanded the team and more effectively organized the rehabilitation space. We dream and plan to increase the number of inpatient beds and accept more people for outpatient rehabilitation.
