Bartash Danylo, 11 years, severe traumatic brain injury
In early March last year, near the station "Troieshchyna-2", drivers of the Kiev city electric train picked up a child without consciousness. It was a boy with serious injuries. They called for an emergency ambulance, which took the child to the hospital where the boy was operated. Then it turned out that it was 11-year-old Danylo Bartosh, who was returning home from school.
Nobody knows the details of the incident. Danylo's father began to seek witnesses through social networks, gathering information by crumbs. That’s what he was able to find out. On March 6, 2018, while returning from school Danilo needed to cross the railway tracks through the on-ground pedestrian crossing. There was an opposite train coming, so Danilko had to stop and, perhaps, turned his face away, hiding from the wind. At that moment, behind him, a locomotive came by. It hit the boy and threw him at the concrete support.
Danylko’s traumas are very severe. Doctors fought for his life for a long time without giving any predictions. For five months Danilko was in a coma, breathed with the help of a device of artificial respiration. He has undergone three brain surgeries and a long process of stabilizing vital indicators.
Now Danylo breathes on his own, but still unconscious. He is in the center of neuro-rehabilitation NODUS, where doctors help him in all possible ways to return to consciousness and restore functions. This path is difficult and expensive. During the 10 months of struggle for Danilko's life, his family has spent more than UAH 1 million. Parents have exhausted their financial resources and are the appeal for help to all non-indifferent people.
Dania used to be an active, cheerful boy. He went on hiking with his parents, worshiped cycling rides, did not part with the books, even slept with them, was going in karate and archery. He took prizes at all-Ukrainian and international competitions. He was a member of the Ukrainian scout organization "Plast". He was interested in mathematics, biology, and physics, attended the scientific group "Five sciences". He dreamed of synthesizing his own dragon. Not only that, she participated in various children's theatrical productions.
Danylo needs a lengthy neuro-rehabilitation, which will help overcome the difficult path to recovery. For this, he needs our support and professional help.
